Whitesnake have finally finished recording their 13th studio album 'Flesh & Blood'.
Set to be unleashed to the world in May 2019 via Frontiers Records, the album will be preceded by the single ‘Shut Up & Kiss Me’ and its accompanying video.
Ahead of their clutch of previously announced European summer shows - including a coveted slot at Download Festival - Whitesnake have just announced a 23-date North American tour for next April and May.
With more shows yet to be announced, the Flesh & Blood World Tour will boast songs from the new album alongside classic hits from Whitesnake’s distinguished four-decade back catalogue.
Frontman David Coverdale enthuses: “We are truly excited & looking forward to playing across the globe in 2019 on what will be a continued celebration of the 40th Anniversary of Whitesnake.
“I am so honoured & grateful to have toured this incredible world we share, for over 40 years, celebrating & enjoying unforgettable moments with millions of people…All of whom have joined me on this amazing journey… I truly love the shared experience & simply love my job & always will… Over 4 Decades of REPTILIAN FUN!! Thank YOU!!”
‘Flesh and Blood’ is the band’s first collection of original Whitesnake material since 2011’s ‘Forevermore’.
Originally set for release this year, Whitesnake and Frontiers Records released a highly apologetic joint statement back in April postponing ‘Flesh & Blood’ due to unforeseen “technical issues whilst mixing the album.”
They said at the time: “Whitesnake would like to express their sincere regrets to our Fans All Over The World for any and all disappointment and promise the album and tour will be worth waiting for.”
Whitesnake filmed the video for ‘Shut Up & Kiss Me’ in March and David Coverdale describes the track as a “kick-ass song.”
Also boasting slots from Def Leppard, Slash ft. Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators, Rob Zombie, Skindred, Tesla and many more, tickets for Download Festival are on sale from Planet Rock Tickets now.
