Slash confirms 'there's material' for a new Guns N’ Roses album

Slash has confirmed that ‘there’s material’ already written for a new Guns N’ Roses album.

Back in December, Guns N’ Roses guitarist Richard Fortus titillated fans by saying a new album could arrive "faster than you think" and vowed the band are “going to try and do another record and get it out soon.”

Echoing these comments, last week Fortus said: "Slash is on tour right now. Once he gets back from that, we're gonna get some more recording done and hopefully get an album out soon. And then we'll get back to touring."

Although Slash has always said he wants to make a new Guns N’ Roses album, now he has now revealed that they have already written some material.

“Axl (Rose), Duff (McKagan), myself and Richard (guitars) have all talked about… there’s material and stuff going on already for a new record,” Slash told TVK’s Rock City.

He continued: "It's just, with Guns N' Roses, you don't go, 'Oh, there is a plan, and it's gonna be like this,' because that's not how it works. So, basically, the only real answer to give is we're hoping to put a new record out, and we'll just see what happens when it happens."

Reflecting upon the future of Guns N’ Roses last summer, Slash told Kerrang: “Axl’s got a ton of s--- that he recorded already, so we’re going to get in there and just start getting into that thing, and then if we do a record and then do a tour, I could see that cycle going on endlessly.”

Slash ft. Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators kick off their sold out UK tour at Manchester Apollo tomorrow night (Saturday 16th February) before playing shows in Glasgow, Doncaster and London.

They also play the Main Stage at Download Festival on Friday 14th June shortly before headliners Def Leppard. Tickets are on sale from Planet Rock Tickets now.
