Robert Plant appears to be teasing a new album

Robert Plant has shared a tantalising snippet of what appears to be new music on his website and social channels.

The former Led Zeppelin frontman posted the 28-second clip yesterday afternoon, which features ambient, percussive instrumental music as the words ‘A Way With Words…’ slowly appear on the screen.

Whether this is the title of Robert’s new single, solo album, a fresh collaborative record or even a second LP with his backing band The Sensational Space Shifters is up in the air.

However, the latter seems to be the most likely as in early 2016 Robert confirmed he had commenced work on the follow-up to 2014’s ‘Lullaby and the Ceaseless Roar.’

Announcing his 2016 tour dates, the singer said: “Our recent travels have taken this wild whirlwind of a band though many incredible and inspiring places.

“Having just begun work on our new album, we thought we’d take time out to raise a little sand and welcome springtime with one more adventure, another celebration of life and song.”

This isn’t the first time Robert has teased an impending announcement. In the May, an intriguing black landing page appeared on that featured the three words “Any time now…”

The post fuelled the insatiable rumour mill from all too predictably erupting with a fresh flurry of Led Zeppelin reunion talk – something Robert has consistently shot down.

He emphatically told Rolling Stone in 2014: "You're going back to the same old s***. A tour would have been an absolute menagerie of vested interests and the very essence of everything that's sh**** about big-time stadium rock.

“We were surrounded by a circus of people that would have had our souls on the fire. I'm not part of a jukebox!"

Jimmy Page, unsurprisingly, had a different take on matters, telling the magazine: "At the time of the O2 show (Ahmet Ertegun Tribute Concert in December 2007) we were led to believe there were going to be more (shows). You'll have to ask Robert why he changed his mind. I don't even know if he considered it. I don't know what he thinks."
