Nikki Sixx has hit out at KISS saying that part of their End Of The Road tour stage production is ‘an exact re-enactment’ of Mötley Crüe’s Final Tour.

Drummer Tommy Lee first pointed out the alleged similarities earlier this month when he shared a YouTube clip of KISS performing in Vancouver, tweeting: “Dayum @KISSOnline this sure looks identical to @MotleyCrue’s final tour.”

Nikki Sixx weighed in on Saturday (16th February) when he shared a photo from Mötley Crüe’s farewell tour in 2014/2015, writing: “If ya wanna see an exact reenactment of this just go to the #LosAngeles Forum tonight.”

Slamming KISS’s stage production yet again on Sunday, Nikki posted an image of Gene Simmons and Tommy Thayer on cranes alongside an image of Mötley Crüe on cranes.

He wrote: “Wow. Our body wasn’t even cold before they took this exact grande finale from our tour. Might not matter to Kiss fans but it does to Crue fans. I dug their music when I was a little kid and it was cool to Co-Headline together a few years but this disappoints me. Anyway. Onwards and upwards.”

KISS haven’t commented on the claims, however a number of fans on social media have critiqued Nikki Sixx for pointing out similarities.

One Tweeted: “KISS was elevating on platforms and flying through fiery arenas when you guys (Mötley Crüe) were still crashing on women's couches.”

A user who goes by the name ‘CrueRules’, wrote: “Big Crue fan no doubt !!! But I’m sure other bands did this before the Crue did !!! OZZY and Randy Rhoades did it on his Blizzard of OZ tour back in the early 80’s”

Another simply called on Nikki Sixx to stop criticising KISS publicly, writing: “It’s disappointing how people feel they need to step out and say anything negative about a band that has been kicking it for 40 some years and can still sell out an arena. They are Legends now be happy for them. Negativity just breeds bad karma.”

Don’t forget, KISS’s End of the Road World Tour comes to the UK this summer and you can head to Planet Rock Tickets to check ticket availability.

Last September, Mötley Crüe’s Vince Neil confirmed they had reunited to record four new songs together for the upcoming Netflix biopic ‘The Dirt’ based on their infamous 2001 collaborative autobiography ‘The Dirt: Confessions of the World's Most Notorious Rock Band’.

Vince later clarified Mötley Crüe’s future in the wake of their swansong tour in 2015, writing: “For those of you who don’t understand, yes “the boys” means Motley and we signed a contract not to tour anymore. We never broke up or said we would never make music again. Hope this clears it up.”

Directed by Jeff Tremaine from a screenplay by Rich Wilkes, The Dirt stars Douglas Booth as Nikki Sixx, Machine Gun Kelly (real name Richard Colson Baker) as Tommy Lee, Daniel Webber as Vince Neil and Iwan Rheon as Mick Mars.
