Lou Gramm Takes Aim At Foreigner

He says he would \"get up and leave\" a concert by the band

In an interview with Spinner, the band's former singer revealed that he believes that the current incarnation of the band is conning fans.

"As I've learned talking to people who see those shows, is that in many cases the audience, especially if they're younger, don't even know it's not the original lead singer. In Foreigner's case, as I understand it, the singer was actually trained to deliver pretty much exactly everything as I did it, note for note. If I were in the audience and learned that while I was there, I'd get up and leave. I think when the band name remains the exact same, but something as important as the lead vocal is different, it's misleading. It's like false advertising."

In the interview Gramm also reveals that he is bemused by the fact that his former band have not been inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame

"I don't think about it too much but when I do, to be honest, it seems a little silly. It makes you wonder if there's anything personal going on because come on, nothing against some of the artists that get inducted, but I think that Foreigner made a huge impact on music, whether you like it or not. And I'll always be very proud of what we accomplished."

Gramm last played with Foreigner a decade ago, and has since recorded one solo album and toured with the Lou Gramm Band fairly consistently.
