KISS have postponed the opening date of their Australian tour and cancelled a New Zealand show as singer Paul Stanley is battling a ‘bad case of influenza’.
The make-up clad rockers posted a statement on their official website explaining they were due to fly Down Under tomorrow (12th November) but doctors have told Paul Stanley to rest and not undertake the long flight.
KISS’s planned gig at The Perth RAC Arena concert on Saturday night (16th November) has now been rearranged for the end of the tour and will take place on Tuesday 3rd December – the same day they were due to play the Spark Arena in Auckland, New Zealand
Due to the moved Perth show, KISS have cancelled their Auckland concert and hope to return to New Zealand at a later date on the ‘End Of The Road’ World Tour.
KISS’s statement reads:
“We were due to leave the US tomorrow to kick off their eagerly awaited ‘End Of The Road’ tour in Perth this Saturday November 16.
“Due to a bad case of Influenza, doctors have advised Paul Stanley to rest for the next few days and not to undertake the long trip from Los Angeles to Perth. With the expectation of Australian audiences high, KISS don’t want to not give 100% and so have made changes to the Australian and New Zealand dates.
“The Perth RAC Arena concert on November 16 has been rescheduled from the beginning to the end of the Australian tour and will now take place on Tuesday December 3.
“All tickets to the November 16 concert are valid for the December 3 show and no exchange is necessary. Simply present your existing ticket(s) at RAC Arena on the new date. For patrons unable to attend on December 3, a refund is available until November 25. Please contact Ticketek on 132 849.
“After the Australian dates end on December 3, KISS depart immediately for a Japanese tour. Therefore, the show originally on December 3 at Spark Arena, Auckland New Zealand cannot be rescheduled and will unfortunately be cancelled.
“We sincerely apologises to fans. The Auckland date will be re-planned for a later stage of the ‘End Of The Road’ World Tour.
“The remainder of the tour remains unchanged and will now kick off at Adelaide Entertainment Centre on November 19.”
KISS will play their last show ever when they headline Download Festival on Friday 12th June 2020. Tickets are on sale from Planet Rock Tickets now.
On stage at the KISS Kruise earlier this month, Paul Stanley confirmed KISS’s last ever show will take place on 17th July 2021 in their native New York City.
The band’s manager Doc McGhee also revealed on the Kruise that all of KISS’s living former members have been approached to take part in their swansong show.
Everyone at Planet Rock wishes Paul a speedy recovery.
