The three members of Led Zeppelin are joining forces for an official illustrated book celebrating the band’s 50th anniversary this year.
Jimmy Page, Robert Plant & John Paul Jones are collaborating with Reel Art Press on the lavish retrospective book that will mark 50 years since the formation of the group.
A post on the band’s social media accounts announced the project, confirming the book will see the light of day in 2018. No additional details were unveiled.
In an interview with the Academy of Achievement last month, Jimmy confirmed Led Zeppelin’s half-Century milestone will be marked with “all manner of surprises.”
“There will be a Led Zeppelin product coming out for sure that people haven’t heard,” Jimmy said.
“I’m working on that and next year will be the 50th year, so there’s all manner of surprises coming out – and then I hope to be seen to be playing, so I better get on with it!”
In October, Redditch Borough Council gave the green light for a John Bonham memorial to be built in the late Led Zeppelin legend’s home town as part of the band’s 50th anniversary celebrations.
The 2.5 tonnes bronze sculpture will be situated in Mercian Square next to Redditch market and it’s expected to be launched to coincide with what would have been Bonzo’s 70th birthday on 31st May 2018.
