The Recording Academy has today revealed the 25 albums and singles that will be inducted into the 2018 Grammy Hall of Fame.

The annual honour recognises 25 recordings that are at least 25-years-old and exhibit qualitative or historic significance.

Rock albums making the cut this year are Jimi Hendrix’s ‘Band of Gypsys’, Queens ‘A Night At The Opera’, and Nirvana’s ‘Nevermind’. Singles set to be immortalised include The Rolling Stones’ ‘Paint It Black’, David Bowie’s ‘Space Oddity’ and Aerosmith’s ‘Dream On’.

All the recordings are cherry-picked by a member committee before receiving final approval by the Recording Academy's National Board of Trustees. Since its inception 45 years ago, a total of 1,063 recordings have been immortalised at the Grammy Museum L.A. Live.

"The Grammy Hall Of Fame strives to embody the changing climate of music throughout these past decades, always acknowledging the diversity of musical expression for which the Academy has become known," said Neil Portnow, President/CEO of the Recording Academy.

"Iconic and inspiring, these recordings are an integral part of our musical, social, and cultural history, and we are proud to have added them to our growing catalogue."
