Free Rock Photography Masterclass At The BME

The British Music Experience in London will host highly acclaimed US photographer Neal Preston for an afternoon masterclass on Sunday 29 January 2012 (4.00pm -6.00pm).

During this very special photography masterclass, Neal will talk about his life behind the lens, shooting many of the world’s biggest bands and artists such as Led Zeppelin, Marc Bolan, Bob Marley, Bruce Springsteen, The Who and Queen. 

The event is free to attend.

Fans of music will know Neal Preston was the photographer of choice for artists including Led Zeppelin, The Who, Queen, Marc Bolan, Bob Marley, Fleetwood Mac and Bruce Springsteen.

Some of Neal’s most famous images can currently be seen in the Gibson Through The Lens exhibition at the British Music Experience, a world-class photographic exhibition consisting of sixty vintage and rare photographs of the world’s most iconic musicians with their Gibson guitars. Gibson Through The Lens exhibition will remain open to the public at The British Music Experience in London's The O2 until 29th February 2012 due to popular demand.

During an incredible career, Neal's photographs have appeared in every conceivable media outlet - On the covers and pages of world-class magazines and newspapers; to books, television shows, feature films, Broadway show programs and billboards; vinyl, CD and DVD packages..Neal’s client list is a virtual who's-who of rock royalty. His archive, a body of work spanning almost four decades, is regarded as one of the music industry's most extensive and significant photo collections. It was the key source of photographs for VH-1's acclaimed Behind the Music documentary series, providing over one thousand still photos used in 50 episodes. 

In 1979 he began a long relationship with People magazine, and to this day remains the most-assigned photojournalist in the history of the magazine, with almost 700 shoot days to his credit. In addition to dozens of People covers, Neal Preston has shot covers of Newsweek, Time Magazine and Rolling Stone with subjects as diverse as Nancy Kerrigan, Richard Nixon, Pearl Jam, and Marvin Gaye.
