The Greatest Live Album Of All Time

Getting a live album right is about as easy as nailing jelly to a tree but when all of the stars align, sometimes - just sometimes - a band can produce an absolute classic.

The live album is a difficult beast for a couple of reasons - do you record one show or compile the best recordings from several? Do you overdub or not?

In our top 40, as voted for by Planet Rock listeners, there's a heady mix of all different types of live records. See what you think below and then let us know in the comments at the foot of the page.
40. Judas Priest - Unleashed In The East (1979)
Tokyo is a good place to make a live album - and Unleashed in the East is no different. Recorded on the Hell Bent For Leather tour, Judas Priest rock the far east with an explosive set that features their biggest and best hits from 1969 to 1979. A real contender for a hard-rocking live album.
