Unreleased Jerry Garcia Footage In Reissued Movie
Previously unseen interview footage of Grateful Dead founder in classic film
A new version of the classic 1977 movie The Grateful Dead Movie is to be released in US movie theatres on Wednesday night with additional previously unreleased footage. The film hasn't had a wide theatrical release since it was first shown 34 years ago.
The Grateful Dead Movie, a combination of cinematic rockumentary and concert film, takes a look at the original Dead Head phenomena. Originally recorded at San Francisco's Winterland Arena in 1974, this featurs performances of 'U.S. Blues,' 'One More Saturday Night,' 'Casey Jones,' 'Playing in the Band' and 'Sugar Magnolia,' among other Grateful Dead classics.
No word on when this new version of the film will make its way to the UK but in the meantime here's a little preview of some of the unreleased interview footage:
