The singer reveals that he's recording his second solo effort

Tate recently issued a Facebook update which said: "For those of you that I have met over the years that have asked about a new solo album, well ... I finally started tracking today. GT II is on its way. I'm very excited about this record and I'll be sharing a lot more info about it in the weeks to come."

Tate released his first, self-titled solo album in 2002.

Meanwhile, Tate will embark on a solo acoustic tour in North America later this month.
