Studio version of ‘Cut Me Some Slack’ is out – but tour is off limits
Dave Grohl has denied reports that there will be a reunion
tour for Nirvana. His people have told the New York Post that reports in the
tabloid were ‘nonsense’. The rumours follow Grohl’s performance of new track ‘Cut me Some Slack’
at last week’s Hurricane Sandy benefit gig in New York, with original band
members Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear plus Paul McCartney on vocals. The four
played together again on ‘Saturday Night Live’ and a studio version of the
track has now been released - you can
hear it on air on Planet Rock and it is now downloadable from iTunes.
Meanwhile, more details have been revealed about further
collaborations for Grohl’s forthcoming ‘Sound City’ documentary soundtrack.
He has recorded with Stevie Nicks, Trent Reznor and Joshua Homme, plus Black Rebel Motorcycle Club’s Peter
Hayes and Robert Levon Been have contributed tracks as well as Foo Fighters
drummer, Taylor Hawkins.
Dave Grohl’s directorial debut about the legendary
recording studio in California will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival next
