Wednesday, January 25th 2012 11:30

The band take on their detractors on Twitter

NME reports that after the band received a Tweet saying: "Was driving down the street, and a @Nickelback song came on. I had an aneurism and violently s*** myself at the same time. And my dog died." The band quickly went on to reply: "I bet it was the best day you've had in awhile. #yourwelcome."

This was quickly followed by another comment saying: "Nickelback came on the radio... Worse than rebecca black #earsbleeding." The band responded: "Then it's working?!?!? Sweet!"

Nickelback are getting familiar with tackling their critics online after recent comments by the drummer from the Black Keys and an online petition to stop them playing the halftime show at a Detroit Lions NFL game.
