Ginger Baker and Black Sabbath?
Drummer was considered to step in on new album.
Producer Rick Rubin reportedly wanted drumming legend Ginger Baker to fill in for Bill Ward on the new Black Sabbath record. however, Tony Iommi has told Rolling Stone that he had no idea Bill had issues with the reunion – but he wouldn't have been comfortable with Ginger on drums for Sabbath, stating ‘I just couldn't see that’.
Rage Against the Machine’s drummer Brac Wilk was eventually chosen as a replacement to Ward. The album is due out in June and has been described by vocalist Ozzy Osbourne as ‘satanic blues’.
