New Robert Plant Single On Air Tonight
26th July 2010
'Angel Dance', the first single from Robert Plant's brand new studio album Band Of Joy, will be given its first airing on the station tonight.
The song is the album opener from the new record (which some of us here at Planet Rock have heard - everyone is united in the opinion that it's just brilliant) and will be given it's first spin on the station in Nicky's show after 6pm.
Band Of Joy is released on 13 September and is the follow up to 2007's Alison Krauss collaboration album, Raising Sand. The new record definitely has similar roots to its predecessor, but it's a slightly more bluesy affair and the onus is definitely on Robert Plant on this one.
So tune in after 6pm to hear the new song and let Nicky know what you thought.
Robert will be out on the road this Autumn / Winter for a handful of shows:
2nd September, HMV Forum, London
26th October, St David’s Hall, Cardiff
27th October, Symphony Hall, Birmingham
31st October 2010, Palace Theatre, Manchester

(11/08/2010 19:34:54) Love it. It's brilliant. Robert continues to grow, experiment and move forward, while a majority of his fan base stay stuck in the 70's with blinders on. Or should I say "ear muffs". There's a whole lotta music out there you people are missing. |

(28/07/2010 09:21:18) Yet again, disappointment. The ONLY thing that would have improved this is to have Jimmy Page ripping up all over it. A Los Lobos cover? Says it all. With all due respect to the musicians on this, why would you want another guitarist when you can have JP?? |

(27/07/2010 17:02:03) Agree with Nicky, I couldn't belive my ears. 2 hours before I was listening to "In my time of dying", it still made the hairs on my arm stand up, after 35 years, this would not have made a Seth Lakeman album. |
