Hollywood Star To Direct Keith Richards Doc

Hollywood actor Johnny Depp is to direct a documentary about the career of Rolling Stone Keith Richards.
Depp famously based his Pirates Of The Caribbean character Captain Jack Sparrow on Keith Richards (and Richards returned the compliment by appearing the third “Pirates” film playing Depp’s father) and now his apparent interest in the rock n roll legend will stretch to an extensive documentary about him.
Billboard reports that in an interview with a European magazine Depp revealed that he was currently trawling through hours of archive footage and that Richards was fully on board with the new film.
"Now that I'm wiser, and that enough time has passed, I can experience directing again," Depp said in a European interview. "Already next week I'll start working on a Keith Richards documentary. While I'm in Drvengrad, my editor is already working on kilometers of archive footage and footage of his concerts. I'm very touched that Keith agreed to show up in front of my cameras."

(07/02/2010 21:18:07) What can be said about Keith Richards? How much heroin he has done in one night or how drunk he was when he played in Germany? Or maybe when Chuck Berry punched him in the face and knocked him out? Maybe about that girl who o.d. in his house. I don't know and I don't think Keith remembers enough to tell a story.
